Lightweight portable mobility specialist, eFOLDi, successfully scooped top honours at this year’s Naidex event, securing the ‘Best-In-Show’ award for its ‘Lite’ folding travel scooter.
As the UK’s leading event, dedicated to empowering and supporting disabled individuals, Naidex’s awards help to recognise products and services which significantly improve people’s lives.
The Lite scooter, which previously won Naidex’s “Innovation of the year” award, is the latest, and most advanced scooter from eFOLDi. Weighing just 15kg, excluding battery, it folds and unfolds in just a few seconds and is easy to store and transport – making it the perfect travel companion, whether travelling by air, land or sea.
With hundreds of exhibitors and a vast array of products on show, competition for the awards is always fierce. The field this year was particularly strong, but the Lite scooter stood out as being a “worthy winner” in the Best in Show category, according to organisers. One of the Lite’s most important features, is its innovative magnesium-alloy chassis that makes it both strong and ultra-lightweight. Being only a third the weight of aluminium, but three times as strong, it not only helps to keep the weight down, it also ensures a smooth, comfortable ride.
Sumi Wang, Chief Executive Officer at eFOLDi, commented: “We are incredibly proud to have been recognised as a leading innovator in the sector, and it is a massive honour for the team. We continue to invest heavily in developing our suite of products, and we strongly believe that our award-winning mobility solutions set a new standard in the industry. The Lite is proving to be life-changing for end-users and extremely popular with our trade partners, both in the UK and overseas, and it remains our best-selling product to date.”
Being both lightweight and portable means the Lite can be easily lifted into a car boot for family days out or domestic holidays. The airline-friendly product also makes it much simpler for users to travel abroad, as the Lite can be driven right up to the plane door and then quickly folded up like a cabin-sized case, so it can be stored away in the cargo hold.
The Surrey-based company continues to focus on its UK trade operation and expansion into new export markets across Europe, and more recently North America. eFOLDi recently announced the appointment of a new Business Development Manager to help support its expanding network of UK retailers.
