eFOLDi, a recognised leader in the design and manufacture of portable mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs, has announced its participation in the upcoming Abilities Expo event, taking place 18th to 20th October 2024 at the Broward County Convention Centre in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Launched in 1979, the Abilities Expo event has evolved to become the leading US event for manufacturers, distributors and service providers looking to showcase their products and services directly to the end-users and healthcare providers. As a flagship event in the disability community’s calendar, Abilities Expo provides essential access to the latest developments in adaptive products, new technologies, and services, designed to promote greater independence for people with mobility impairments.
At this year’s Expo, the eFOLDi team will be on hand to demonstrate the company’s latest innovations to consumers and interested trade partners. Taking centre stage at the show will be eFOLDi’s award-winning, ultra-portable ‘Lite’ travel scooter, with a total weight as low as 31 lbs, excluding battery. The demand for mobility solutions is expected to grow at exponential rates, due in part to a rise in the prevalence of disabilities and a rapidly ageing population. The U.S Census Bureau predicts 2030 will represent a major demographic turning point for the US. With population projections indicating one in every five Americans will be of retirement age by 2030, equating to more than 73 million people. Advances in material and lithium battery technology are also making ultra-portable mobility devices more practical and desirable.
